Professionele hondenopvang Lene uit Utrecht

Hallo, ik ben Lene!

Hondenoppas Utrecht: Lene

Hello everyone,,,,, Pet boarding + daycare...ONLY SMALLISH DOGS.. 3525AL UTRECHT
(my advert. is quite long but full of information)
I'm Canadian and speak some Dutch but find the grammar very difficult.
In Canada, I was a certified trainer for K-9 rescue, security dogs as well as service dogs for the deaf,+ blind, chronic sick, snow-water rescue, PTSD and medical alert dogs.
In Holland, I've done my own training, grooming and breeding of Maltese show dogs. I walked dog shows with my 6 Maltesers. The smallest was 1.5 kilos and the others ranged to 3 kilos. My 1st died in 2006 at age15 and the last in 2009 at age10. Some passed peacefully at home in their sleep. My flat is full of photos, trophies and warm wonderful memories.
I do dog sitting for hospital admittance + vacations + weekends + daily.
A 3 day/night sleepover is required so I can see if your dog adjusts well to being here with me. These 3 days are paid for by yourselves ( non-refundable ). It's better to pay for three days than need to come home early from a vacation or work assignment because your dog can't adjust...this should be booked in as soon as possible ( when there is space in my agenda.) If the dog can not adjust due to separation anxiety or so, the 3 days are not refundable, but your actual paid vacation booking dates are.
If we go further, I need a valid dog belasting bewijs + an updated vet. book...the original must always be with the dog + a copy of a current DOG WA insurance stating that you are covered for all damages caused by your pet + proof of deworming and flea treatment also + your personal address and phone numbers + emergency info. + Whatsapp numbers + your vacation schedule addresses + numbers when possible, It's wise to have all paperwork copied and ready for me just in case we both decide to go further with our contact. I will also need 3 short permission letters which will be explained further in this ad.
My rates are comparable to those of a good pension and usually change in January, yearly...During the Corona, I still had bookings but kept my rates the same. They changed when the lockdowns were lifted. The difference is; that by me, your baby gets personal attention and is in my home, not alone in a kennel with other barking dogs. If we click and go farther, I require the total of money in cash (non-refundable) at booking time. It is non-refundable because if you cancel, I would have lost any potential booking for your reserved time. This reserves the time for YOU. If there are more people interested in roughly the same booking dates, the first who books and pays gets the reservation. I work on a first-come, first-reserved basis. Please bring with you, your dog and its food + toys + meds etc. I insist upon it being your own food because that is what his body is used to and a sudden switch will always cause tummy problems. I want to keep your pet healthy and happy while it has its own mini-vacation. If it's needed I have all bench sizes except XXL.. You may bring your own bench if you feel better about doing so. Please bring an item with your smell on it. This will give him a familiar smell of home which will help against homesickness.
I never double book because you never know in advance if it will click between the dogs, so I don't take that chance. However, your dog needs to accept the presence of a dog if a booking overlaps and a dog needs to be here a day longer waiting to be picked up. I have NO intention of playing referee to 2 dogs in combat.
I usually walk on a schedule of 6x per day but with older or tiny dogs, I walk for shorter distances. I always use poop bags which are supplied by YOU when you bring him. and his vacation suitcase (a backpack used only for him works great, it keeps all of his things together in one place and holds a lot of things. This works better than a bunch of plastic shopping bags. All of the dogs I now sit for are regulars and all have weatherproof winter jackets. This keeps them warm and dry and clean.....especially if the weather is nasty. Jackets are almost a necessity for tiny or senior dogs because they are more vulnerable to the weather. There is nothing worse than the smell of wet dogs in the house and on the furniture. So please consider an easy-on / easy-off type of weather jacket for your pet. and I hope you now use a harness...not a collar. I insist that the dog be freshly washed and tangle-free ( I groom them daily either by brush or by glove at an extra charge if you require it ). If I need to take it to a groomer because he is not clean, the costs including the transportation to and back are at YOUR cost and you sign for that when I get your paperwork. Having ALL paperwork ready upon our first meeting will save the time and stress of you having to gather it up and bring it to me later.. ( especially if we decide after our first meeting to go farther with one another in the future. )
I first want to meet hopefully 2x if possible to walk outside and have coffee inside. In that way, I can see how your dog behaves in a new environment with strange smells and sounds around him. Upon meeting I will ignore the dog and let him approach me when he feels ready.
The dogs are in my home but I follow your rules and schedules. This gives them structure and a homey atmosphere to live in while you are away. If you could make a TIPS & TRICKS letter explaining his schedules and his likes and dislikes and if he gets treats after coming in from a toilet break or before bed or if certain things bother or frighten him etc, it would be much appreciated.
I live in a fairly big flat with under-floor heating and cooling, so it’s always comfortable.
I use a recycling water fountain which keeps his water cool and fresh and it's oxygenated. and chemical-free. This is also healthier for him.
If I have an appointment out of the house, I'm usually back quite quickly. Can he be left alone for a short while? Is he bench-trained because..I use a bench for quiet time overday and for bedtime and if I need to go out..
If it is possible to take them with me, that would be my preference. I visit old age homes and take a dog with me but I need a permission letter from you allowing me to take him places with me. The seniors enjoy "our" visits. You see their faces light up like a sunny day. Many of these people needed to leave much-loved pets behind them. These visits depend on the temperament of your dog. Some enjoy all the fuss and attention and some do not. Putting this on his tips and tricks sheet would be helpful,.. also if he gets car sick or not could be included on his tip sheet also.
There needs to be a click between us as well as myself with your dog. You need to be able to leave your precious pet with me and have a good and trusting feeling about it. I have repeat clients who travel long distances to use my services. Sorry but I do not pick up or deliver and only charge full-day rates also for part days.
I require 2 other permission letters from you...(1} to take your pet to the veterinarian if the problem can not be solved by me..her clinic is almost across from my flat....the costs including transportation are YOURS and you will get the original vet invoice showing all costs.....(2} If your pet is not freshly bathed and tangle-free upon his arrival, I must take it to a groomer and the costs of this including transportation fees are Yours. Without ALL the paperwork and letters, I will NOT book.
I think I have covered any question you may have had, if you require additional information, or you are uncertain of something above, please do not hesitate to contact me.
My fees are now (since the Covid lockdown is lifted ) 35 euro per day and an extra dog from the same family is 25 euro..... overnights are 45 and an extra dog is 35... I charge by the day, not part days.
There is much more information but the most important things have been covered ( I hope ).
If you have questions, please feel free to contact me, the only silly question is the one you don't bother to ask. I am very loving to your pet but business-like for the business end of things and I hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully yours,
Marlene. ***To put your mind at ease, I keep in contact using whats app photos or videos***
